The residents of Bessemer have a new way to receive emergency alerts and other important information from the city.
The City of Bessemer Citizen Notification System (CNS) is a free service that allows residents and businesses in Bessemer to receive alerts regarding utility outages, severe weather and other emergencies — as well as other community notifications — via phone calls, emails or text messages, according to a news release from the city.
The city of Bessemer is partnering with High Ground Solutions of Birmingham to provide the service, according to the release.
